Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Grant Elementary, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when students experience the world firsthand. Field trips extend classroom learning by connecting academic concepts to real-life experiences, making lessons more engaging, relevant, and memorable.
Throughout the school year, students participate in a variety of educational field trips that enrich instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, history, visual and performing arts, and environmental education. Whether exploring museums, universities, cultural institutions, science centers, theaters, nature preserves, or participating in outdoor education, students develop curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Field trips also provide opportunities for students to:
- Apply classroom learning in authentic settings.
- Develop problem-solving and observation skills.
- Explore future college and career pathways.
- Build confidence, independence, and teamwork.
- Experience the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles and beyond.
These experiences create lasting memories while inspiring students to become lifelong learners and active members of their communities.
A Safe and Supportive School Community
At Grant Elementary, we believe students learn best when they feel safe, connected, and valued. Our school fosters a positive culture built on respect, responsibility, kindness, and collaboration.
We are proud to be recognized as a California PBIS Coalition Bronze Award School for our implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which promotes positive behavior, strong relationships, and student well-being.
Our school-wide expectations encourage every member of our community to:
🐅 Be Safe
🐅 Be Respectful
🐅 Be Responsible
🐅 Be Kind
These values are woven into every aspect of school life and help create an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
