Welcome to 6th Grade with Ms. Ladefoged
My name is Ms. Ladefoged, and I will be your child’s teacher for this school year. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally. I have been a teacher since 2004, and previously taught at Bryson STEM Magnet School in South Gate, California. I transfered to Grant Elementary to be closer to home and my almost 7 year old daughter, Autumn. I am excited to bring the knowledge I learned at my former school site to Grant. I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I received my teaching credential from California State Long Beach and my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from California State Northridge.
Your son/daughter will master the skills needed in language arts, writing, and mathematics, and will participate in art, music, social studies, health, science, and physical education. My passion lies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and I look forward to preparing your son or daughter to be a 21st Century student.
Students will have homework Monday through Thursday, and are expected to read daily for 30 minutes.Parents, you and I have one common goal, the academic success of your child. In order to accomplish this, your efforts and support will be an important factor in this process. I communicate electronically using Class Dojo. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year.
